David Jiménez holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Alcalá (Spain). His research career begins as Research Assistant in 2007 working on computer vision and machine learning. He is author of several articles in top Q1 journals, publications in high impact international conferences (CVPR, KDD, IJCB, SIGIR, etc), 1 book chapter and several patents in the AI space. Apart from his teaching experience as Assistant Lecturer, he supervised several PhD/MSc/BSc students and he regularly serves as reviewer for international AI conferences, journals and PhD thesis.
His professional career starts in 2016 working as R&D lead for the retail industry. In 2017 he joined Gradiant as Research Science Manager focusing on AI for biometric solutions. Since 2019, he is Research Science Manager in NielsenIQ, leading the Core Models team, an amazing and multi-disciplinary team of consolidated AI researchers. The goal of this team is to perform mid/long term research in disruptive problems with a large impact on NielsenIQ’s business. Domains covered by the team are NLP, Computer Vision, Multimodality or LLMs. We support the different applied research teams on the most exciting and challenging problems, providing state-of-the-art innovative solutions.
