NielsenIQ on list of best workplaces for women in India

NielsenIQ has been included in The Economic Times Best Workplaces for Women Coffee Table Book 2021 – Powered by Femina, as one of the best places to work for women in India. This recognition is a huge impetus to solidify the Diversity & Inclusion practices adopted by NielsenIQ India to empower employees in their career journey with the company.

Also included on the list this year are 55 leading brands, including Ericsson India, Hero MotoCorp, Continental Automotive India, Trident, Volvo Group India, Pernod Ricard India, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Amdocs, Avery Dennison, AB InBev India, HCL, IBM, Pepsico, and several others.

For decades women have chosen to work at NielsenIQ India across multiple domains such as measurement research, data science, and technology, as well as in operations and corporate functions. Though the technology sector has been the dominant industry in India for over two decades in terms of employment opportunities, in the case of Nielsen IQ India, women have opted for a broad spectrum of functions, but are primarily in client-facing roles. We have increased interest among prospective women talent in the Technology and Operations side of the business as well.

NielsenIQ India is sponsoring a job fair for women this year (2021) with a focus to widen the female talent pool, specifically in technology, at NielsenIQ. Further, the company has made it mandatory in its hiring policy to include at least two women candidates to be considered in the first round of business interview stages for senior leadership positions at NielsenIQ India.

“We are a business culture that values the talents and perspectives of women. I am proud that we are helping to build long-term solutions towards gaps and challenges of our women employees,” said Sandhya Vishal, Chief Counsel and Diversity & Inclusion leader, NielsenIQ South Asia/India.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has been exceptionally difficult for women and research reveals that, as a consequence, many women across the globe are leaving the workforce. Given this context, NielsenIQ’s India WIN team conducted a deep dive on the impact of the pandemic on women across role levels and age groups at the workplace. The insights gained were used to periodically communicate work/life solutions that were designed to help employees adapt to the situation.

“This award is a stepping stone in our D&I journey and a reminder that what we have is unique and we are in the right direction to continue leading NielsenIQ as one of the best places to work for women in India. NielsenIQ is working on the strategy that includes accountability and ownership of hard and soft targets to improve women representation,” said Mahipal Nair, Chief Human Resources, NielsenIQ South Asia/India, Africa, Middle East.
