GfK’s Map of the Month for June shows the regional distribution of retail purchasing power in Europe in 2023.
The average retail purchasing power in Europe is 6,517 euros per capita. However, there are significant differences between the 25 analyzed European countries in terms of retail spending: At 12,067 euros per capita, Luxembourgers have the most money to spend in the retail sector, followed by the Swiss (11,617 euros) and the Danes (9,479 euros). Romania brings up the rear: People there spend 2,986 euros per capita in the retail sector.
