Meet your brilliant speakers
Dr. Elise Temple
Vice President, BASES Neuroscience & Client Service
Dr. Temple earned her PhD in Neurosciences from Stanford Medical School and holds a BS in Psychology & Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Oregon. She served as a professor at Cornell and Dartmouth, heading the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab and the Educational Neuroscience Lab. Dr. Temple has authored over two dozen papers, cited by over 4000 others. In 2010, she joined Nielsen Consumer Neuroscience, leading neuroscience efforts for major clients. She is passionate about making neuroscience accessible for impactful business solutions while maintaining scientific rigor.
Matthew Cottle
Vice President, North America Lead BASES Advertising
Matthew brings over 13 years of experience in interdisciplinary research to BASES Advertising Specialty. He is passionate about working with partners to enhance their fundamental understanding of consumers through applied behavioral and neuroscience solutions. He works with leading brands across BevAl, CPG, Retail, Tech, and Media to consult on their strategic advertising creative initiatives to develop a strengthened learning ecosystem to effectively and impactfully build connections between brands and their consumers. Matthew is based in Boston, MA.
Katie Sugermeyer
Vice President, BASES & Neuro Pack and Design, North America Lead at NIQ
Katie has been a pioneer in bringing neuroscience into consumer research for over 16 years. Today she is the North America Commercial Lead for the Pack & Design practice, working with clients across nearly every vertical. Her expertise is in the blending of methodologies to create an optimal, customized research plan for her clients. BevAl has always been a favorite industry for Katie, acknowledging the importance of great design to differentiate in an ever-evolving landscape. Katie is based in Charleston, South Carolina and loves a great glass red from the Rhone Valley.
