John Blenke is NIQ’s Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, responsible for all legal, legislative, and regulatory matters impacting NIQ throughout the world.
Mr. Blenke joined NIQ in 2022, having retired from TransUnion (NYSE:TRU) as its Executive Vice President and Corporate General Counsel in 2018. He is a seasoned legal executive, having led legal, legislative, regulatory, information security or business continuity functions of various global publicly traded enterprises operating in technology, consumer data, financial services, and manufacturing industries. With over 40+ years of legal experience, he has successfully established legal control and corporate governance environments that have enabled companies to offer billions of dollars of publicly registered securities, through public equity and debt offerings and merger and acquisition transactions. John is a constant promoter of change within his team. Always challenging his team to find a better way to meet the ever-changing legal environment while empowering the business to operate as efficiently as possible.
Mr. Blenke received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in 1977 and his JD degree from DePaul University in 1980. He was a member of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries for over 25 years, serving on its Securities Law Committee, and has been an industry arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. Throughout his career John has served as a member of advisory boards or boards of directors of industry associations and various start-up entities, and from 2019 through 2022 he was retained as a consultant from time-to-time by private equity firms in connection with investments being considered by those firms.
