Britain’s late-night economy has suffered a 4.6% contraction in just 12 months, with bars, clubs and casinos under pressure from soaring costs, safety concerns and poor transport, the new Night Time Economy Market Monitor from NIQ and the Night Time Industries Association reveals.
The dip means the number of late-night bars, clubs, casinos and similar venues is now 28.0% below the levels of March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic triggered a wave of closures across the sector.
